This is an important safety notice
: When entering and exiting the building please be careful that you are not letting other people in. It may seem rude and uncomfortable to shut the door, but we must follow safety protocol. Anyone entering the church outside a service/when the door is locked, PPM Parent or Church Member, must each enter on their own. Unless the person is in your party, you need to let them ring the bell and ask for assistance. Whether a PPM parent or grandparent, a visitor to the church, or someone requesting assistance, please let the door shut and let them ring the bell and the PPM office or the church office personnel will assist them. If you ever have any question about an individual requesting entrance to the church, please speak with church personnel before allowing them entrance. The safety of the children, teachers, and staff is of utmost priority. Thank you for your cooperation.

Facebook Post! Did you know that First Presbyterian Church has a Facebook page? We do! Please jump on there and check it out. It’s a great way to stay connected and see what is happening in the FPC family. There is a special post on there right now which we invite you to see: a wonderful video of recent graduates in the FPC family was created by Neal Crouse and posted on FPC’s Facebook page. Enjoy!

Music Notes
: No Choir Rehearsal until after Labor Day.

Worship in the Park, June 26th, 10am. Memorial Park Bandstand

There will be more information about this worship event coming as soon as it is available. Be on the lookout for more details in the next newsletter or a separate email with information strictly about Worship in the Park. We look forward to worshipping together in this beautiful setting.

The Dish Ran Away . . . to Your House?
FPC has dishes to spare. For the next few weeks, there will be a table showcasing FPC dishes set up in the lobby after the service. We’d like to share them with you! Please stop by the table and take home as many as you wish. Thank you!

God’s Strength is the vehicle
that enables us to move forward one moment at a time, one day at a time, and accept, even embrace, what God has for us. The Lebanon Reporter recently ran an article about a train car called “the chapel car”, an actual train car that travelled across this country from 1890 until the mid to late 1940s. Several different denominations sponsored building chapel cars or refitting other train cars to suit that purpose. The cars ran on multiple railroad lines, and they all had the same purpose: to bring a house of worship to the people when the people could not make it to a house of worship. The chapel car functioned as a church on wheels, equipped with pews, an organ, and living space for a minister travelling with the train car. Imagine with me that you are able to take a ride on a chapel car. Let’s call it “God’s Strength”. The chapel car, God’s Strength, meets you where you are at and takes you to where you need to be. It gives you a place to rest, recharge, refresh; a place to question and wrestle; a place to cry or laugh, as your need dictates. That is what God’s strength does for us every day. Day by day, clickety-clack, clickety-clack, one wheel after another: over the rails, across the countryside, up and down the mountains, through the tunnels. God’s Strength pulls into a station, but never quits. God’s Strength keeps on chugging. We don’t have to create the steam that moves the train or construct the train car. We don’t furnish the pews, tune the organ, or supply the kitchenette. We don’t place the bibles or the hymnals in the racks. God’s strength fulfils and supplies far above and beyond where we lack, enabling us to rest, and in that rest, to worship. So, step onto that train with me and sit down in the chapel car. Rest in God’s Strength. Let it fill you, refresh you, energise you, and carry you where you need to be.

Interested in joining the prayer chain? Contact Phyllis Duff at (765)482-1485/ raduff2@att.net. The following prayer is taken from Psalm 25 (KJV).

Dear Heavenly Father, Unto thee, O Lord, do I lift up my soul. O my God, I trust in thee: let me not be ashamed, let not mine enemies triumph over me. Yea, let none that wait on thee be ashamed . . . Shew me thy ways, O Lord; teach me thy paths. Lead me in thy truth, and teach me: for thou art the God of my salvation; on thee do I wait all the day. Remember, O Lord, thy tender mercies and thy loving kindnesses; for they have ben ever of old. . . . Mine eyes are ever toward the Lord; for he shall pluck my feet out of the net. . . . Let integrity and uprightness preserve me; for I wait on thee. Amen.
