One Day Ministry Leadership Seminar

The Fuller Seminary and Christ Church of Oak Brook (IL) are hosting 1-day seminar, “Ministry Leadership in a Messy World” on Friday, May 31st, 2024 at Christ Church of Oak Brook (501 Oak Brook Road, Oak Brook, IL 60523). Photo Contest

The first annual photo contest is open. Please email your flower photo to pastor Je to enter. It does not have to be a recent photo. Five or more years or old photo is just fine. There are only two rules that it has to be a flower photo, and that is was taken by you.

Happy Mother’s Day

Coming Sunday is Mother’s Day. As many of you already know, the First Presbyterian Church in Lebanon celebrates all women of faith. But this should not diminish or belittle the love and role of mothers. On Mother’s Day while we celebrate all women of faith, our focus still remain on honouring our mothers.

Ascension Day Tomorrow

Tomorrow is the Ascension Day. Ten days after Jesus ascended up into heaven, the Holy Spirit descended onto all the believers. This makes that the coming Sunday is the last Sunday of Easter Season, and the following Sunday the Pentecost. Being the Ascension Sunday, pastor Je will show (during the worship service on the coming Sunday) the photo of Jesus’ footprint (tradition-ally credited so) on a rock which He left with His last step on earth as He began ascending This photo was taken by pastor Je at the Chapel (or Dome) of Ascension in the summer of 2014.

Live for Life Sunday

Coming Sunday is also Live for Life Sunday when we collect the donations for the residents at the local Women’s Shelter (new or lightly used items for women and children). If you may wish to support them financially, write “Live for Life” on offering envelope or on the memo line of your cheque.

Celebration for Craig Reynolds II

Craig Reynolds II is graduating from the high school this month after completing thirteen years (including kindergarten) of public education successfully. The celebration and open house will be on Saturday, May 18th, 2–5PM at his house at 228 Nottingham Lane, Lebanon, IN 46052.

Don’t you love hearing the dramatised Scripture Readings during the Sunday Worship Services? You can join the bliss of being part of it. If you are willing, let Neal know before the Worship Service on each Sunday.

Terri Thorn On this second week of the sermon series, Why Keep Sabbath, I'm wondering what does Sabbath-keeping mean to you?  For those over 40, it probably equates to a list of do's and don'ts about what is allowed on Sundays.   For most of us, honoring the Sabbath meant that you did go to church on Sunday and you did not go shopping.  During my childhood, we called Sunday, Holy Day, and there was a specific routine we followed.  All the women, all the children, and some of the men, went to church every Sunday.   Interestingly though, not everyone went to the same church.
