Pastor Je's Vacation

Pastor Je's vacation is next week beginning from Monday through following Sunday. Ben Piper will preach on Sunday, October 27th.

Parking Information

After discussion last night, the session declined the offer from the parking lot owner across the street from the church. $200 per Sunday is too much to accept. So please do not park in the parking lot across from the church playground to avoid your car being towed without warning. Here are some available parking options:

1.      Church parking lot. 5 spots are available: Pastor, Secretary, PPM teachers.

2.      Public parking right behind (South) of the private parking lot.

3.      Lebanon Reporter parking lot.

4.      Insurance Company Parking lot.( lot on the corner of Main St and East St)

5.      Street parking.

Upcoming Events

Join us as we celebrate Bud Hunter and honor his decades of ministry through music! 🎶✨ Come to the church on Saturday, November 9, from 2-5 p.m. to be part of this special event. The program will kick off in the sanctuary at 2, followed by a reception in the fellowship hall around 3. Let’s come together to recognize Bud's incredible contributions and enjoy an afternoon of music, memories, and fellowship!

Sukkot

Sukkot begins tomorrow (precisely tonight). Sukkot, also known as the Feast of Tabernacles or Feast of Booths, is a Jewish holiday that lasts for seven days (eight days in the diaspora) and typically falls in late September to October, following Yom Kippur. It is one of the three major pilgrimage festivals in Judaism, along with Passover and Shavuot. Sukkot commemorates the Israelites' journey through the wilderness after their exodus from Egypt, during which they lived in temporary shelters (sukkot). To celebrate, Jews build temporary huts or "sukkahs" and dwell in them throughout the holiday to remember their ancestors' reliance on God's protection in the desert. The holiday also has an agricultural aspect, marking the end of the harvest season in Israel. As part of the celebration, four species of plants—the lulav (palm branch), etrog (citron), hadas (myrtle), and aravah (willow)—are used in prayers to express gratitude for God's creation. Sukkot is a joyful festival, emphasizing themes of gratitude, hospitality, and reliance on God. It concludes with Shemini Atzeret and Simchat Torah, which celebrate the completion of the annual cycle of Torah readings. This holiday embodies both spiritual reflection and festive celebration, connecting the Jewish people to their history and the cycles of nature.

Celebrating Reformation

October 31st is not only Halloween but it is also Reformation Day when Martin Luther nailed his thesis on the church door. To celebrate the reformation, pastor Je and the worship team is preparing the Reformation Sermon Series which will introduce four major reformers: John Calvin, John Knox, Martin Luther, and Jan Hus. Though the Reformation Sunday is October 27th this year, due to pastor Je's vacation, we begin the Reformation Sermon Series one week earlier. This coming Sunday, please come and meet our dearest John Calvin.

PDA Hurricane Relief

The Presbyterian Disaster Assistance is actively rescuing and helping the affected people by Helene and Milton in Florida and nearby states. If you would like to contribute, please mark your offering (check or envelope) either 'PDA' or 'Hurricane.'

PPM News

Hello from PPM! We have been very busy at preschool! This week we have a visit from the local fire department! The firefighters will talk to the children about fire safety. We will learn what to do if there is a fire and how to stay safe. There will be a firefighter that will put on all his gear to show the children what it looks like and not to be scared. We also will get a chance to see a fire truck up close! The children will get a chance to sit in the firetruck and see what all is on the truck. This week is also our last week before fall break. We will be out October 21st – 25th . When we return from fall break on Monday Oct 28th, we will have a special dress up day. Everyone will be dressed up as their favorite book character. This is a fun day for teachers and children!

Enjoy the beautiful fall weather!

Blessings,

Miss Lori Glauber

Saturday Bible Study

Will meet in the library Saturday, October 19th at 11:30am. We are continuing the study of Genesis. Coffee and tea will be provided but you need to bring your own lunch.

Want to Add Music to the Service?

Summertime and the livin’ is easy… and music is needed! If you have ever wanted to play an instrument or sing (solo or as a group), now is your chance. The congregation is always appreciative of music so do not be afraid to add to worship with your song! Also, if you have a favorite hymn (even if it is not in our hymnal), please email Lisa Hutcheson (or see her at church) and if it is covered under our music license, and fits into the service, she will do her best to include them. Let us all make a joyful noise to the Lord!
