Yom Kippur

This Coming Saturday is Yom Kippur, also known as the Day of Atonement, which is the holiest day in the Jewish calendar. It occurs ten days after Rosh Hashanah and is a time for repentance, reflection, and seeking forgiveness from God. Jews traditionally observe this day with a 25-hour fast and intense prayer, often spending much of the day in synagogue. The purpose of Yom Kippur is to atone for sins committed in the past year and to seek reconciliation with both God and fellow human beings. It’s a solemn day marked by a deep spiritual focus on repentance and renewal.

Calling All Singers and Ringers

Can you hear the sleigh bells jingling? The Advent and Christmas season is just around the corner, and we need YOUR talents to bring the holiday spirit to life! If you’d like to share your musical gifts—whether it's a solo, group performance, or instrumental piece—email Lisa Hutcheson, our worship coordinator, at lisahutcheson@yahoo.com. or talk to her at church. Lets make a joyful noise as we celebrate this wonderful time of year!

Faith Over Fear

The Indiana United Methodist Children’s Home celebrated their 100th Anniversary recently with a Breakfast with Champions. For the celebration breakfast, James E. Davis Teacher Ms. Gavin asked her students to write something on the theme “What is your hope for the future?” I’ve attached a picture of the poem that won an award and was featured in the program. The title of the student’s poem is “Faith Over Fear”.

PPM News

Happy October!! As I am typing this we have a class walking to Becky's Market to learn about pumpkins and gourds and a class walking to the Lebanon Post Office to mail letters to their parents and maybe see how the post office operates. Our classes are busy learning about Community Helpers and both of these experiences are great examples. Next week the Lebanon Fire Department will be coming to our school to teach us about fire safety. PPM had their first family night last week, We had 40 families enjoying different art activities and dinner with staff.  The kids favorite art activity of the night was bubble painting in the courtyard. The staff did an amazing job setting up the activities and helping families throughout the night. If you have a chance to walk upstairs you will see a variety of work displayed. Apples, pumpkins, fall colors and community helpers. The hallways are in full display for the season.

Please continue to pray for our parents, staff and children. This month I would ask you to pray specifically for Miss Ashton (Toddlers) and Miss Kelly (Pre-1) and their classes. Both of these teachers work hard every day guiding our youngest children. Miss Ashton has been at PPM for 11 years. Her daughter Kaydence is almost 5 and is in the Pre5 class. Ashton and William are expecting their second child in the Spring. Miss Kelly has been at PPM for 8 years. Kelly and her husband Ronnie have 2 daughters; Lucy is in the PreK class and their oldest, Lily is a junior at Lebanon. We are so blessed to have both of these amazing and dedicated ladies at PPM.

 Have a blessed week,

Ms. Lori Rowe

Saturday Bible Study

Will meet in the library Saturday, October 12th at 11:30am. We are continuing the study of Genesis. Coffee and tea will be provided but you need to bring your own lunch.

Want to Add Music to the Service?

Summertime and the livin’ is easy… and music is needed! If you have ever wanted to play an instrument or sing (solo or as a group), now is your chance. The congregation is always appreciative of music so do not be afraid to add to worship with your song! Also, if you have a favorite hymn (even if it is not in our hymnal), please email Lisa Hutcheson (or see her at church) and if it is covered under our music license, and fits into the service, she will do her best to include them. Let us all make a joyful noise to the Lord!
