Malawi Project

Dick Stephen’s with the Malawi Project is in need of a building to sort, store and ship items. The current location is no longer available. In order for this ministry to continue, he needs another location before September.  Janet McConnell offered to call local churches to get the word out and see if any can help.

If you have other church contacts or a lead on a location, please let Janet know or contact Dick. There has to be a place to rent or use for this project to continue. They send about 3 shipments a year from Lebanon. Which is around 320 million dollars in aid to Malawi over the past 32 years.

Building needs are below:

·        A space about 40 x 40 to pack and prepare the pallets for shipment.

·        Concrete floor as we have a forklift.

·        Overhead door so we can get the pallets out to the trailer.

·        Good driveway so a semi can back up to the door for loading.

PPM News

We are getting excited for the end of the year! This Sunday, May 18th we will be celebrating with our classmates and families. This is always a bittersweet celebration as we are also saying goodbye to our PreK friends who are heading to Kindergarten in the Fall. This group of PreK friends holds a very special place in my heart, as 5 of them were my first experience at teaching Toddlers. It is truly amazing how confident and independent they have become.

Our school year ends officially May 23rd. The last week of school we will have a few fun dress up days, and celebrations in our classrooms.

Please continue to pray for our staff as we start to transition from the school year into summer mode. This summer we have about 60 children attending, a few new families to PPM that will continue into the Fall.

The end of this year is also bittersweet for our teaching staff. Miss Lori Glauber (Assistant Director) will be stepping down after 18 years at PPM, to say she will be missed would be an understatement. Miss Lori has been my right hand person for the past 3 years and has shown great dedication to PPM throughout her time here. Miss Nakia Dixon (PreK teacher) is also stepping down after 9 years at PPM. Miss Nakia and her husband Jeff are expecting a new addition this Fall and she is taking some time off to enjoy being a full time mommy. Miss Madi(Pre 2 teacher) is also stepping down this year, to explore other career opportunities. Miss Madi has been with us for 1 1/2 years, we wish her nothing but  the best and will miss having her at PPM. Please pray that God will send us loving and dedicated teachers for these classes.

We are thankful to all of you for your support and prayers this year, especially during some of our more stressful times we feel your love and support.

Blessings,

Miss Lori

Pentecost Offering

After Easter through Pentecost Sunday, we are collecting PCUSA’s another special offering, Pentecost Offering.

This offering unites us in a church-wide effort to support young people and inspire them to share their faith, ideas, and unique gifts with the church and the world. Psalm 71 testifies that a foundation of faith established during childhood helps ensure lifelong faith and service. The patterns and lessons established during these formative years continue to bear fruit throughout a person's life. By receiving the Pentecost Offering, you are nurturing the faith of children, youth, and young adults.

·  40% is retained by congregations to support work with at-risk children, youth and young adults in their local community.

·  50% supports ministries with youth and young adults.

·  10% supports child advocacy/children at risk.

Communion Server Sign-up

Do you want to serve the Communion by distributing the elements during the regular Communion on the first Sunday of each month? Please sign up on the bulletin board outside the church office or contact pastor Je. By the session’s approval, you don’t have to be an ordained elder to serve the Communion. June and July still need volunteers.

Voice Actor Needed

Don’t you love hearing the dramatized Scripture Readings during the Sunday Worship Services? You can join the bliss of being part of it. Please let Pastor Je or Neal know if you would like to volunteer.

Wanna Be on the Visit Team?

If you want to help pastor Je visit our home-bound members, call or email the church office or pastor Je.

Prayer Request?

If you have a prayer request, please contact Phyllis Duff at raduff2@att.net.

Got News?

Do you have something you wish to share with the church family? Sharing good news will double it. Sharing sad news will halve it. Is your child or grandchild excellent? You can boast about them. Contact the church office if you want your story in the weekly Midweek or monthly Newsletter.
